High Water Levels Don’t Take Holidays

In December 2023, exceptionally high water levels in the Dutch rivers forced the relocation of eight asylum seeker reception vessels from their usual moorings to a temporary harbor. However, on the very first day, it became clear that there were no drinking water connections available.

Doggerland Offshore was called in as a troubleshooter to quickly resolve this urgent issue and ensure a reliable supply of drinking water.

Within hours of receiving the call, we chartered an inland vessel, which immediately set course for Arnhem. By the next morning, we had loaded drinking water containers and multiple pumps. With ingenuity and determination, we designed an efficient system to collect drinking water overnight from a supply point miles away and transport it to the ships the following day.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the crew of MS Exuma for their long hours, unwavering dedication, and tireless enthusiasm in making this operation a success.
